Sharde' graduated from the master’s degree program at University of Houston (UH). She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in education from Bowling Green State University (2011). Sharde' was an educator for eight years, working with children of all ages as well as their loved ones in order to achieve student success.

Sharde's areas of competence include individual counseling, group counseling, and couples and family counseling. My education as a counselor began at UH in 2013.
"I believe that clients have the ability to choose how to resolve their own problems and can make their own decisions with my assistance as a facilitator. I believe that clients are responsible for their own behaviors, thoughts, and feelings. As a counselor, I hope to facilitate greater self-awareness and insight for my clients through their life experiences."
This newly acquired insight can lead to increased confidence, self-esteem, independence, the capacity to make healthy life changes, and the power to build and maintain healthy relationships. As a client, you maintain control of yourself and you may end our counseling relationship at any point, and I will be supportive of that decision. If you are dissatisfied with my work, I will help you find another counselor who may better suit your needs.

Because I believe that a client’s self-awareness, coping mechanisms, and choices are key to developing self-direction and independence, my approach to therapy will include client-centered techniques which will provide methods to solve problems utilizing the client’s own strengths to meet their own needs. Even when meeting with an individual, I attempt to incorporate family members, when appropriate and possible. With children and young adolescents, other approaches will be used such as play therapy when deemed appropriate for the client. It is likely that I will assign homework as needed in the form of reading, journaling, communicating with others, and/or other exercises or activities that are specific to your needs. While not mandatory, it is strongly recommended that you participate in these assignments outside of our sessions in order to facilitate your growth.
Available to see clients in person and virtual. BCBS accepted.
