Saima is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with the State of Texas.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, and her Master of Arts degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Phoenix in Phoenix, Arizona.  After completing her graduate degree in Arizona, Saima was also certified as a K-12 school guidance counselor in the State of Arizona and had the opportunity to work in the middle school setting.   She has experience in the college environment in the field of educational and career counseling as well.  Upon returning to Texas, Saima enrolled at the University of Houston to complete further studies in the clinical field of counseling psychology and human behavior.  She gained her practicum experience in a private practice setting working with adults, couples, and adolescents.  Currently, Saima is also employed as a psychotherapist with West Oaks Hospital.

Having lived in numerous cities throughout the United States, as well as abroad, Saima gained a distinctive ability to interact and engage with people of various backgrounds and cultures.  In her practice, she aims to utilize her interpersonal abilities to cultivate a relationship of trust and support with her clients.   She applies psychoanalytic and cognitive behavioral therapeutic interventions in order to guide clients in identifying and modifying behavioral patterns and negative thought processes.  Saima’s aim in therapy is to encourage her clients to find or rediscover their sense of mental well-being and balance.

Saima enjoys tennis, swimming, art, and music.  She was raised in Houston, Texas, graduated from high school and college, and then began her journey of exploring and experiencing new places and people before returning to Houston eight years ago.

Saima has availability on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, & Friday.
